Ingredient of North Sumatra Medan Soto Recipes

4 tablespoons oil for sauteing
6 piece red onion
4 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon coriander, toasted
½ teaspoon cumin, toasted
½ tsp pepper granules
2 cm ginger
2 cm turmeric
2 tsp salt
2 stalks lemongrass, crushed
5 kaffir lime leaves
2 bay leaves
3 cm galangal, crushed
1 liter of liquid coconut milk
200 ml thick coconut milk


2 pieces of boiled potatoes, cut into pieces
2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
1 tomato, chopped
Fried onions for topping
fried chips
chili sauce
sweet soy sauce

How to Cook North Sumatra Medan Soto

1. Heat oil, saute ground spices, lemon grass, lime leaves, and ginger until fragrant and cooked. 2. Add chicken, stirring until the chicken meat stiff. Pour the liquid coconut milk, stir and cook until chicken is tender. Lift, then fry until golden brown. Shredded meat. Set aside.
3. Boil the gravy soup back over low heat, pour the thick coconut milk. Stir until boiling. Remove from heat.
4. Enter the boiled potatoes, eggs, tomatoes, and shredded chicken meat into serving bowls. Pour the hot sauce. Sprinkle with fried onions and serve with complement.
